Hyderabad, June 24: After months of non-receipt of monthly financial aid from the government, Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Thursday has finally released the monthly Honorarium to Imams and Muezzins.
Following this, a delegation of various religious scholars and leaders called on Home Minister Mahmood Ali at his official residence and thanked him for releasing the monthly stipends of Imams and Muazzins.
The Home Minister informed the delegation that the COVID-19 pandemic had a consequential impact on the public exchequer due to which there was a delay in the release of the monthly Honorarium to Imams and Muezzins.
He said that the Telangana government is working to resolve the problems of Ulemas, Imams, and Muezzins of the state and added that the state government is committed to its secularism policy.
Mahmood Ali said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has great respect for the Ulemas, Imams, and Muezzins and is serious about resolving their issues.
Former Head of Farsi and Arabic Department at Osmania University Prof. Dr. Syed Tanveeruddin Khudanumai, Mufti Dr. Maulana Mastan Wali Quadri, Moulana Mohammed Fazal Ullah Qadri, Sajjada Nasheen, Dargah Hazrat Moosa Quadri, Telangana State Waqf Board (TSWB) member Advocate Waheed Ahmed, Dr. Syed Yusufuddin Quadri Chishti Naqshbandi, Maulana Syed Abdul Qadir Quadri Waheed Pasha, and others were part of the delegation.
On this occasion, the Telugu book ‘Selected Hadiths’ compiled by Dr. Syed Yusufuddin Quadri Chishti Naqshbandi was launched by the Home Minister. While Syed Abdul Qadir Quadri Waheed Pasha also presented another book ‘Message of Humanity’ to the Home Minister.
