Building a new site can seem like a daunting task. In this article we will walk through the easy steps to build and launch a brand new site on the WP Engine platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/a>\n\n\n\n

Create New Site and Environment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A “site” refers to the group of 3 “environments”; production, staging, and development<\/a>. Each environment is a completely independent installation of WordPress\u00ae.1<\/a><\/sup> Copying<\/a> between these environments is also easy through the User Portal and uses our backup<\/a> system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  2. On the Sites<\/strong><\/a> page, click Add site<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    If you don’t have any sites yet you’ll see a different screen where you can use the Build a new site<\/strong> or Migrate a site to WP Engine<\/strong> workflows like the image below. You’ll also see an Accept a site transfer<\/strong> option at the bottom, but you won’t see the Copy Environment<\/strong> option if you don’t have any sites yet.
